Anatomy of a River Float Trip

At least once a year a group tries to run the river but it always means getting those flat inner tubes from behind the hay barn and getting them blown up.  It seems we throw about half of them away each year because they just can't be retrieved.
The trip to the drop off point isn't far from our house so even though this looks like a scarry ride it is taken very slowly and safely.
This is the drop off.  Only the young and young at heart venture to do this.  The boat looking flotation devices are actually ice sleds.  We are very versatile.
These two boy s were just sure they could invent their very own, unique drift boat.  They barely got it into the water and found it was a bit rickety and the chairs were thrown back on the bank.  But Garrett always has to have a fishing agenda when he does anything on the water.  I think he would fish in a swimming pool if he thought he could get away with it.
"Wish us a safe trip!  See ya soon!"
I think this is just the funnest picture of kids and summer.  Memories in the making!
There they go and here they come!!!!!!!

Well father and son made it just fine and Tait's shoes stayed on just fine thanks to that every versatile commodity: Duct Tape
I don't see any fish in that boat but I think the boat would be sacrificed before that fishing rod would leave Garrett's hand.
All in all it was a very fun ride thanks to that one adult who is willing to brave the cold water
THE END
but I am sure not the last float trip.
